Racing starts at 5pm because of tides in the bay and includes a 1500m swim, 40km bike and 10km run. The out-and-back course design for the Invercargill Licensing Trust-sponsored event will mean spectators will get plenty of opportunities to watch the contestants. Cumming said he had been training well and was feeling confident going into the race. "But anything can happen. You can have a puncture and that's it." Cumming has won the event five times, including twice in the past two years. Sharon Johns will also return to defend her women's title. Southland Triathlon Academy members will compete in a shortened version of the championships. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ VOLUNTARY SUBSCRIBERS Thanks to the following for your voluntary support of Tri Updates Simon Burke - Hamilton Richard Evans - Waikanae ------------------------------------------------------------------------ REESBY STROKE AND STRIDE 09/01/2001 100m swim and 3km run.- Men: B.
