Under the new ROC who could use all installation of upcoming Ironman Switzerland the Zurich women's triathlon saw 684 finishing women over classic, sprint and short distance. As no prize money was set for the first of the renewed event the international participation was less than usual. The 3rd of the Lausanne Worlds Evelyn Willimason (NZL)  who also placed 10th in last years Zurich world cup race had a clear win. Williamson who missed the Frankfurt ITU international race for a cold came down from a trainings camp of her team in St. Moritz (preparing the world cup in hungary) to take
over lead in the swim leg. Second place was for Nada Rotovnik Kozejek (SLO) who spontanously participated when in arriving in Zurich for the Ironman race.
